Your way through complex workbooks

Less chasing cells.
More getting
things done.

Find your way through complex Excel files. Follow formulas across sheets, see what changed and cut the repetitive checks that eat into your day.

Reports. Operations. Planning. Financial models.
Your workbook, inside Excel.

01 / Less routine. More momentum.

Get into the work.
Not lost in the file.

The workbook you inherited. The report you update every month. The model everyone depends on. Make the next step easier to find.

01

Find your way. Keep your context.A new workbook. A familiar way through.

Follow a result back to its source across sheets, inspect the formula behind it and return to where you started. Less tab-hopping. More time to understand the work.

Monthly report → regional totals → source assumptions
02

Review the pattern. Skip the repetition.Hundreds of similar formulas. A focused review.

Bring repeated formulas into families and see the variants that deserve attention. Spend your time on the differences instead of reading the same logic cell by cell.

Formula cells → shared patterns → exceptions to investigate
03

See what changed. Move work forward.A revised file. A clearer handover.

Compare formulas and assumptions between workbook versions. Focus your review on meaningful changes instead of retracing the entire file.

Last version → updated workbook → changes to review

02 / Put your attention where it matters

Same logic.
One less thing
to check again.

In reports, plans and models, the same calculation often repeats across months, teams or products. Group those formulas by their structure, then focus on what is different.

A fixed reference where you expected a relative one. A formula that breaks the pattern. Turn another manual scan into a specific question to investigate.

A fixed reference changes the pattern.
Intentional assumption or copy error?

Illustrative formulas. A different pattern is a question to review, not an automatic error.

03 / Keep the work moving

Less detective work.
More time to think.

Make sense of the workbook, explain the result and hand over with context. The value is in the work you can get back to.

    Take over an unfamiliar file.

Trace the important outputs and the inputs behind them before you start making changes.

  2. 02

    Keep recurring reviews focused.

Look at shared patterns and meaningful differences, instead of starting another cell-by-cell inspection.

  3. 03

    Investigate slow workbooks.

Identify formulas worth investigating and measure calculation time separately. A complex formula is not always a slow one.

A few useful answers

Fits your work?
Start here.

Is Formuloom only for financial models?

No. It is for people working with complex Excel workbooks: recurring reports, operational plans, forecasts, analyses and financial models. If you spend time finding cells, following formulas or checking someone else's file, the workflow is for you.

How does it fit into my day?

Start with the workbook you already use. Navigate from a result to its inputs, review repeated formulas together and investigate changes in context. The aim is less manual searching and more time for the decisions behind the spreadsheet.

Which Excel versions are supported?

The initial target is desktop Microsoft 365 Excel on Windows. Compatibility for the release will be confirmed through testing. Mac, web and mobile Excel are outside the initial scope.

Do I need to upload my workbook?

Formuloom is designed for local, offline analysis in Excel, without uploading workbook formulas.

Does a flagged formula mean something is wrong?

No. A different formula pattern is a review candidate. First periods, scenario switches and special cases can all be intentional. Formuloom helps you focus your attention; you make the judgement.
